Specialist & High Performance Cylinder Liners

Laystall manufacture cylinder liners in small quantities for special applications such as motorsport, classic and vintage vehicles, aero engines, marine, refrigeration and compressors.

Designs

From samples or customers drawings. Alternatively Laystall will design a suitable product.

Materials

Cast Iron, Steel (Cromard®), Coated Aluminium Alloy, high strength forged Aluminium tube.

Quantities

One off to volume production.

Bore Coatings / Treatments

Ceramic, Microchannelled Hard Chrome, Laycarb® , Silicon Carbide Impregnation, R.I. Localised SiC impregnation and texturisation, Nickel Ceramic, Nickel.

Reclamation

High value engine blocks, liners and other components may be reclaimed economically in some circumstances.

We also have the facilities to provide sub contract services in the following areas.

Hard Chrome and Nickel Plating

Internal and external, from 'one offs' to large volumes. Bore plating a speciality.

Bore Honing

Up to 150 mm diameter by 350 mm long
Hot Honing to 120 degrees centigrade
Torque plate honing.

Internal Grinding

20 mm min to 400 mm max. Grinding depth 315 mm. Max Swing 500 mm max diameter.

General Machining

2/3 axis turning, 4 axis machining centres.

Kit Sets

A wide variety of kit sets can be supplied .

After Sales

All Laystall products are covered by a 12-month warranty. Optional extended warranties for specific customer applications are also available and subject to negotiation.

Packaging

We offer a comprehensive range of packaging to meet the individual customers needs, from pallets, stillages, wooden crates to individual items in dedicated boxes.

Production Planning & Control

Having installed the latest generation ERP, Sanderson 'UNITY' our MRP system produces the supplier scheduling and production job and route cards. This system allows us to respond to the ever-changing needs of our customer's priorities, thus offering the optimum service level whether it's KanBan or JIT deliveries ranging from small-bespoke batch sizes to full production quantities.
